TERRA-MODIS color composite red-green-blue where the SWIR channel is in red, the NIR channel in green, and the RED channel in blue. The satellite image covers an area of roughly 2,500Â km2 in the North of Niamey, Niger during the dry season. The green color represents vegetation, the light brown color represents bright bare soils and the dark brown color represents dark bare soils. The water bodies (in blue) are potential breeding sites for mosquitoes and locations where the nomads gather to water their cattle.
